How It All Began

Under the previous ECO1 and ECO2 schemes government passed various fundings to insulate houses in Britain to minimise heat loss and improve energy efficiency, they included loft insulation for semi-detached, detached and town houses, room in roof insulation for terraced properties and cavity wall insulation for all types of properties.

The only elevation which wasn’t focused on much was the under-floor insulation. The idea behind under floor insulation is to minimise the cold draft of air entering the property through air vents and penetrating through the floor boards which ultimately drops the temperature and results in consumers using more fuel to heat their homes.

The energy professionals have thought thoroughly this time and with extensive research and careful consideration they have decided to pass funding for absolutely free boiler only if the house fills the criteria for under floor insulation. Which in simple terms means that if a house has a cellar or under floor crawl space with exposed joists, they will insulate the under floor area between the joists with Knauf wool to minimise the heat loss and then pass 100% funding for a brand new A-rated free boiler.
